Podcast

Hey there, For the Love of Parenting parents—and welcome back. I’ve missed you. If you’re tuning in today, I just want to say thank you for being here. It means more than you know.

You may have noticed we took a little two-week pause from the podcast. But that pause wasn’t just about stepping away—it was about leaning into something powerful. Something I believe every parent, working mom, mompreneur, caregiver—every human—needs permission to do: pause.

During that time, I gave myself something I didn’t even realize I was longing for: space.

No schedule. No demands. Just quiet.

It wasn’t fancy. I sat with a cup of tea. Listened to the birds. Laid in the sun. Let my thoughts wander without trying to catch or organize them. And in that stillness, I found something priceless—a gentle reminder that I am more than what I do for others.

Motherhood is constant, no matter how old your children are. It’s beautiful, yes—but also consuming. And somewhere along the way, we forget that we’re allowed to simply be.

So this May, in honor of Mother’s Day, I gave myself stillness. And I decided—I don’t want to wait another year to unwrap that gift again.

If you’ve been craving space, let this be your nudge. Pause. Breathe. Come home to yourself.

You’re worth that... and so much more.

Let’s begin with a truth.

So, we live in a culture that glorifies productivity and celebrates bouncing back—after birth, after hardship, after burnout. We’re told to “get back to it,” to “hustle,” to “not fall behind.” But what if falling behind is actually where we find our true selves?

Taking a pause, whether it’s for 10 minutes or two weeks—or longer—isn’t weakness. It’s wisdom.

So what does “pause” really mean?

For me, this break wasn’t about tuning out. It was about tuning in. I paused so I could hear myself again. Because in the noise of parenting, running a business, and holding space for so many others, I had stopped listening to what I needed.

Pause means…

  • Stepping away to reconnect.
  • Releasing the idea that we always need to be producing to be valuable.
  • Making space for reflection, renewal, and rest.
  • Reminding ourselves that healing doesn’t happen on someone else’s timeline.

Let’s talk about healing.
It doesn’t just mean recovering from birth. Healing can look like:

  • Mourning a former version of yourself.
  • Adjusting to new demands.
  • Processing a hard conversation, or a sleepless season.
  • Simply learning to breathe again in your own rhythm.

And here’s the thing: healing isn’t linear. It loops, dips, spirals, rests, and repeats. And that’s okay.

Taking a break allowed me to sit with that.
No microphone. No schedule. Just space.
I let go of the “shoulds.” I embraced the slow.
I noticed how my energy returned not all at once, but in waves.
I remembered how good it feels to stop performing and just be.

So, how do we embrace the power of pause in everyday parenting?

Start small.

  • Step outside and take a breath before picking up the toys.
  • Let the dishes wait while you watch your baby sleep.
  • Turn off your notifications.
  • Say no to one more thing, even if it’s a good thing.
  •

Pausing is not about doing nothing. It’s about doing what matters most—and sometimes, that means being still enough to remember what that is.

I want to leave you with this:
You do not have to rush your healing.
You don’t have to bounce back.
You can honor your rhythm, your process, your needs.

And if you needed someone to say it’s okay to take a break—here I am, telling you: It’s more than okay. It’s necessary.

So… welcome back.
I’m back. We’re back.
And I’m so excited for what’s ahead. But we’re not racing forward. We’re walking with intention. Together.

Until next time, take care!
